Picked up some new(to me)SAA's

Recommended Posts

Over the last couple of weeks I have I have been able to pick up some nice revolvers.  I got two Colt SAA's in .45 and a USFA in .44 special.

The blued Colt is 1978 and the nickel Colt is either end of 1978 or beginning of 1979.  Have not looked up the USFA yet.

I love me some cowboy guns.

I hate you, I hate you so much.:bowrofl:

Now put me in your will, as Greg said " You, sir, have impeccable tastes. "

Cool. I’ve decided to add a cowboy gun, so I’m keeping an eye out. I certainly can’t justify the money for Colt; but those sure look nice.

I know, that’s what I do now; I’m a gun snob.

But now I’m a retired gun snob.

Cowboy guns are just one of the things I think are cool.  It is hard to find a good deal on Colts nowadays.  I would love to find a 5.5" or 4.75" Colt SAA but those carry a premium over the 7.5" barrels.

Uberti does make some really nice guns and they are a lot more reasonable.

I really like the looks of the USFA!

Thanks.  I do as well.  The blueing and ccc are really nice.  I really like the shorter barrels also.

It appears that Colt is making a new King Cobra model revolver. I saw an ad in Guns & Ammo magazine this past issue. Makes me giddy that they may reissue the Python and my fave...the Anaconda 😁

I have 3 pistols chanbered in .357 Magum.  I have 3 rifles chambered in .357 Magnum.
      I want a .357 Magnum semi-auto.  I know, I know.  Why not get a 10mm?  Why not get a .40?  Because I reload .357, have a ton of .357 ammo and don't want to introduce another caliber.  I so eagerly want a .357 semi-auto carbine.
If anyone else is interested in one of these conversions, please contact MechTech today and show your support.  They won't build a conversion unless you ask.  They are already doing conversions for other 1911s.  I want them to build an upper for the Coonan 1911.

After contacting them, please share this post to other gun blogs so the interest can spread.  I don't want to have to pay a gunsmith thousands of dollars to do this conversion for me.

I wasn't quite sure whether to put this post in handguns or long guns forum.  Technically, it's both.
