New case in the supreme courts

Recommended Posts

On the other hand, many of the Democratic candidates for President, have threatened to overhaul SCOTUS if they do hear the case. That could be like waving a red cape in front of a bull, to certain members of the court. Might be enough to get them to hear it.

I’m slightly more confident. I don’t believe it will result in a blanket coverage of a right to carry a firearm outside of the home. That’s not really the subject before the Court at this time.

What I do believe has a high likelihood of being the outcome is the application of strict scrutiny to firearms laws. If that happens, this could ultimately be as important to 2A litigation as Heller.

Would that any and all matters before the court had that standard.

"They rejected the city’s request to dismiss the case as moot immediately, instead announcing that the “question of mootness will be subject to further consideration, and the parties should be prepared to discuss it.”"
