Bone Cave Park

Recommended Posts

I was greeted by a sign at the entrance to the Bone Cave State Natural Area that stated “Firearms/Weapons Not Permitted.”

I have a picture of the sign saved to the photos on my phone, but it seems impossible to share that photo from my phone while posting through the phone

I realize this notice does not meet the sign statute parameters. Would I have been in legal trouble had I proceeded with my handgun?

Bledsoe Park has a similar sign. Doesn't say you cannot bring a gun into the park, but once you reach the camp grounds, its posted on way in and I can see why. Close prox to each other and I'm sure they don't want any neighborly feuds, lol. :)

When the law changed to allow carry in parks, it did not require existing signage be removed or changed.  The owness is on the permit holder to know the signs aren't applicable.  I believe they can still post buildings, but not the entire area.
