One of the better looking Nagants I have seen.

You just used paint?

Is that a hand-gun scope on it?

It took a lot of sanding to get the stock to feel good to me, then I painted it and several layers of sealer. I had a friend throw a pistol scope on his to see the accuracy of the gun and he found it held zero better so I tried and he was right. Apparently you can buy a midlevel pistol scope or a high end rifle scope for them. I chose not to spent more on the scope than the rifle. It shoots great and had held zero for over 200 rounds.

Did you just polish the bluing off the barrel and receiver to get that finish? If so, give some details if you did anything special except a lot of hard work. I'd like to see some more pictures if you wouldn't mind. Pretty cool Mosin.

ALOT of elbow grease. It took near 30 hours just on the barrel. It was about a 40 hour project. For all the purest out there and all the people that sent hateful PM's to me. The only part of this gun that was remotely good was the bore. Stock had previously been "restored" I think they used shellack. The outer part of the barrel had several rub marks on it. and the rear sights were missing. Shot great (8 inch groupings at 100 yards) for a $40.00 gun. I took scope and bi-pod off of other guns and now have less than $75.00 into it. Still not done, getting rid of sight and bayonet lug.

No not BLACK but this gun will out shoot ANY black gun I have shot.

And yes I know from experience it will as Mark allowed me to shoot it the other day.

My first word was WOW.

Mark made me a believer.!!!!

CMP M1 H&R, shoots 1/3 MOA with surplus Lake City ammo. Rebuilt for me on a laminate stock almost 20 years ago by a USMC armorer. Not black, do I still get cool points?

Anyone that sent you a hateful PM is a complete moron, and I'd have no problem telling them that myself. Great job restoring that Mosin and making it YOUR OWN.

I always giggle when people talk about keeping a Mosin pure and original. It's a $70 rifle. There were tens of millions produced over its lifetime. Get a life people.
