While doing their part to grow the population of their protected species, two bald eagles fell from the sky while still locked together in Red Bank on Sunday.

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency officers and a representative of a local wildlife rehabilitation agency placed towels over the lovebirds' heads to keep them calm, at which point they separated from each other, according to a TWRA Facebook post.

Sometimes love hurts, but the post said the birds are OK.

Biggest excitement in Red Bank in years.
