Please help.... Questions about online auctions

Recommended Posts

All of the online auctions say it is bidders responsibility to know the rules for their state. Are there any requirements or restrictions to me buying handguns and having them shipped to me?

Simplified version is this. Firearms (Handgun/rifle/shotgun/other) will have to be shipped to a FFL where a background check will be performed. That’s the law federally.

The warning you find about it being the bidder’s responsibility to know the laws of their state is mostly in reference to residents of AWB states knowing what guns are or are not legal in their state of residence and bidding accordingly. E.G. a Californian not bidding on a handgun that isn’t on the CA DOJ roster or on an AK.

You could before 1968, but not now.
