Small pistoll primers selling for $100.00 per 1000 on GB

Regarding primers, I read an article (firearm blog, ammoland, or TTAG) which revealed a surprising fact.

Despite the volume of ammo manufacturers, there are only 4 domestic primer suppliers. I believe the article alluded to a European shipment of 1,000,000 primers to be en route.

There can't be much profit in pre-rolled target ammo as I also read where Remington was looking to get permission from the BK court to sell their ammo line.

$65 million, which is a bunch, but for the zillions of rounds produced, they can't be making any real margins.

Well based on the crazy high prices some will pay, they could go up and what would we do? Reload as much as we have components and then either buy high priced ammo, high priced components or stop shooting. Kind of like the gas prices if it goes to $5 per gallon we all have a choice drive or ride a horse, bike or walk.

My wife and I stopped by Sportsmans Warehouse in Southhaven, MS this morning and were able to pick up 2000 Small Pistol Primers.  They are only giving out 1000 per customer.  The total cost per 1000.00 was $25. 57.  I was happy to get them and at a great price.  Will stop by again in a few days.
