WTB - Wheel Weights/Lead

A few options in addition to wheel weights to look for is scrap roof flashing, lead keel weights (though they can be hundreds of pounds in some boats),  containers from nuclear medicine shops that they use to house the radioactive meds until used, and range scrap recovery. If you can find a dentist that still uses regular xrays, the xray pieces have a small piece of lead foil. If they have a bin of them, it might be enough to work with.

I pulled some of this together off other people's info. I was stupid and passed up a large chunk of lead a few years ago and have kicked myself ever since. I don't cast now, but have been looking to collect what I need to start one day.

One note. Dad used to cash sinkers and diving weights from battery lead. I have heard lots of warnings and also lots of people saying it is ok. In a SHTF pinch, I think I would do it. Right now, I have not come to that point. Of course Dad just used to turn the battery upside down on a stump he wanted killed for the acid to drain out. I am sure the EPS would love that.

I think the boat ballast and radioactive medicine container things seem like the way to go.

thanks for the info guys!

One other point I saw was that you can use pewter to add to lead when you need tin. Guy I saw it from said he buys things like pewter picture frames at thrift stores.
