300 blk upper

Several yrs ago I started buying pieces for a 300 blk out pistol. I sorta did it bass ackwards with getting a AAC suppressor, BCI lower and EOtech. Well life got in the way, new small farm and building. I’ve decided to go ahead with a sbr. I’m looking around online and there’s lots of new names. I don’t want to spend a fortune but not really interested in trying to find the cheapest out there. So I’m asking for y’all’s opinion on a upper in a price range from 600-900 give or take a few bucks. I’m also open to something nice if I can justify it in my small head.

Ballistic Advantage would get my vote if I was shopping for a complete upper.

I like those. Did see one in the classified I like. I’m amazed at how many 7.5’s are out there.

BCM is nice. Doesn't look like they come with a charging handle and BCG though.

I’ve always liked Bravo co. Would be nice if it had bcg and charging handle. Did see one on gun broker.

What barrel length are you looking for? I went short (7.5”) because my SF can is pretty long.

While you do get more velocity from longer barrels, most agree 8-9 inches is the sweet spot for 300 BLK barrel length. And given that the overwhelming majority of 300 BLK shooters are shooting under 100 yards subsonic suppressed or want a very short pistol/SBR for home defense or a truck gun I think that’s why you are seeing the shorter barrels. The new Daniel Defense PDW has a 7” barrel.

My recent research has led me to either Ballistic Advantage or BCM as the top names in 300 BLK currently, as previously mentioned.

I was thinking around 9-10.5”. My can is around 7.75. So I might consider shorter if I make it sub use only.

I did find Radian and those look nice. I’ll check out some shorter stuff.
