My Recent Retail Ammo Experience (August 2020)

Recommended Posts

It's been said many times in many ways, but you have to prepare. I don't have millions of rounds like some of the pics I've seen here of walls stacked head high with cases and pallets full on the floors. But I have enough to allow me to shoot a bit(not that I get out much anymore anyway), and have a stash for the EOTWAWKI initial flareup. I figure if it really all goes to hell in that fashion and we're stormed here at home, I might get a few mags off before being overrun.

Someone might get my pitiful little stash afterwards. But it will be a costly effort. Just a thought...maybe I could rig up a surprise for them. Hmm?

I will not go alone, I can promise you that!

EDIT Well, I guess I got a bit off topic with that little tirade. lol

But I did learn over the last decade to buy when I could. Just wish I'd had the foresight last December to add a few cases to the stock wile we were seeing some really good pricing. And I will, if this doesn't go south on us all, try to buy some more...someday.

Hipower makes a good point. In the EOTWAWKI scenario, its most probable that despite our dreams and fantasies, most of us will get killed. My plan is to take as many of the bad guys with me as possible.

I have enough ammo to end, discourage, or die during an attack at my country home. At least I'd take-out a few. From the time that I was a cop, my whole mindset was to at least live long enough to kill the SOB that kills me. At age 60, I have no delusions of surviving a running gun battle with a younger foe.

In that one in a million situation or 50 or so odd days from now the way it's going lol.

I fully expect to die if my house is overrun, but I expect the ground to be wet and red when I fall.

I may be short on my goto rounds currently in 5.56 etc. But I got plenty of Mosin rounds that will make body armor at a distance a non factor.
