Reloading Fiocchi new primed 20GA hulls

Recommended Posts

I am reloading Fiocchi new primer hulls with 18.9 grs of Longshot powder, clay buster CB0178-12 wad, 1oz #9 lead shot. I use an overshot card, but still have about 1/8” of space left below the crimp. Can I add a 1/8” filler wad on top of the shot to tighten them up?

better result to put a felt spacer in the bottom of the shot cup.  This this is a straight wall shell, are you sure you are using the correct wad?  Also, only use a minimal amount of wad pressure, just enough to firmly seat against the powder.

The shot is at the top of the wad now. From what I have read it is a bad thing to have the shot against the hull wall, which is where it would be if I put the wad in the bottom of the shot cup. That is why I was asking about putting the filler wad on top of the shot. Thanks for the reply and the help. Maybe a taller wad?
