Gun control article on NY Times

Here's what you guys all need to consider:

The fact that they keep saying a thing doesn't mean they don't mean the thing and won't execute their plan to destroy the 2A and disarm America.  It doesn't mean they aren't committed to that goal.  It just means they haven't been able to successfully pull it off yet.  Do NOT become complacent or dismissive of it.

They have told you what they want to do.  They are in it for the long haul.  We have to be equally committed and not let boredom or arrogance cause us to let our guard drop.  As soon as we do, they will pounce and it will unravel quickly.  Mark my words.

I am a nutjob, I guess, because I think powers-that-be orchestrated the theft of the 2020 election.  I don't love Trump and I think he is a toxic personality.  Four more years of him might have been the death of America also.  He might have become the next Vladamir Putin, never leaving office, just changing the rules of the game to keep him in power regardless of title.  But Biden and Harris absolutely represent a voter base that wants to see America become a socialist country.

When I look at how the 2020 election unfolded, I don't see one tactic being used against Trump or the GOP.  I see a staggering array of tactics used.  If I am correct, "they" threw everything they had against the wall to see what would work.  They even threw things at the wall that would have previously never dared be used in the light of day, because they figured that there was enough hatred for Trump that even if the public noticed, the public wouldn't care.  The public would say that the end justified the means.

And here we are.  A ridiculous number of things seemed to be effective and perhaps it was success through asymmetry:  No one thing alone would have worked, but a combination of crazily disparate things did because people couldn't comprehend what was going on and therefore dismissed it as an impossibility.

If I am right about that, you'll see that tactic used to destroy the 2A and disarm America.

I've always looked at it like an analogy where there's a group outside the castle with a battering ram. What movie ever shows it as they just walk up and go bonk and the castle door is unhinged. Its constant pounding and eventually they breach it. They've got more people holding on to that ram than ever before.

think If we are to see gun control in the next few years it will be aimed at peripherals as to not throw the frog in boiling water. You'll see: ban on buying ammunition from the internet/ammunition has to go through ffl...

Sadly the playbook has already been battle tested and sorted. All the predictions are already laws in states after their long term take down of 2A. The co-opting of the govt that appears to be happening may not be appreciated by the hopeful crowd...or not wanting to see perhaps? That is the difference. 2A is just one of the things going away. 1A already has a large muzzle placed on it by the SJW crowd.  Just working their way down the list.

As David warns, dont think this cant come to what you may see as a safe haven like TN.  CA use to be gun friendly too....long ago. It did not happen right away either.

'It cant happen' ended up with the pro gun guys sitting on their couch wishful thinking vs signing the petitions in 2016. Then we watched the final coffin nails driven in by the SUV driving soccer moms following what they were brainwashed to believe by Facebook and the left media, forcing ammo background checks and assault weapon registration down our throats. Kamala style baby!!! And now she is a heart beat away. I don't believe in coincidence.

I fear this story writes itself because its really just a case of plagiarism on a larger scale.

Hearts and minds people. How?

But I dont think you cant have truth and fairness when .gov owns the propaganda engines.

I expect a few executive actions pretty much right off the bat, targeting importation of firearms and ammo, both have been done before and is the easy low hanging fruit for Biden. And considering todays market its the easiest way to do the most damage while making the least waves.

I share this viewpoint. Just like the feeling that at this moment its hard to tell a difference in parties. Some are gonna be upset by that, others are rejoicing . What better moment for a "lets come together 9/11 esque" moment than to once and for all ban these evil weapons that have assaulted our children, our loved ones, shattered lives,etc.. Let's start a new administration,  a new America,  with doing the right thing and banning those (insert demonic rhetoric here) and start to heal with growth and hope and change. Or something like that 🙄

I can’t see that being the case. Honestly, the only places that I see gun control mentioned is on gun forums and magazines. I don’t hear it in general conversations or read anything about gun control on Facebook or Twitter, ever.

I should have posted links to the articles I read weeks and months back but we had a politics police that insisted on hammering your source like a dog humping a shoe so I abstained.

Understand I TRULY hope I am wrong. Nothing would please me more. But these articles came to me from a seasoned female ER/trauma Doctor. One who doesn't keep up with guns but has heard guns, health crisis, and CDC mentioned more and more. I believe it dates back to late in the Clinton years iirc. But the article that stuck out and related to our 2020 issues was the parallels to covid and guns.

I don't know what constitutes fact in a future tense, as its just agenda today. Seems the horses mouth is pretty open about plans / agenda. Harris' debate stated plans where more extreme, which is why you best hope Joe stays where he is.  Keeping in mind of course that he has to be inaugurated before the poop starts it downhill journey to whatever recess of FB one might be keeping themselves.

https://joebiden.com/gunsafety/

Or course, one can hope all that is just political rhetoric to get the nomination without any plan to act on it, but hope is likely all that is in the current environment.  I trust FB, if that is one's barometer of reality, will get much more interesting in the 3 months following 1/20

We should start a pool. It would at least make it more interesting. Any idea what we could buy squares for?

This assumes that all Republicans vote against.  We know that isn't likely to be true.  Politicians do whatever they can to preserve their jobs.  The easiest way to do that is to make their constituents feel like they are being well-represented.  If a Republican feels like it is in the best interest of his or her continued paycheck to support anti-2A legislation, guess what they're going to do.

Thinking that it matters who has the majority when the margin is as slim as it is, is dangerous.

Exxxxactly.

I don't trust Romney/Murkowski/Collins any farther than I can throw them.

I've been through one assault weapons ban and it's dumb luck good fortune that it's not still law.  Times are different now--this wacky left acts like the wife of 20 years who gave up her career to raise the kids and put her husband through med school, only to be traded in for a 25 year old beauty queen after he made millions.  They want the right's spleen in a jar.  Establishment career types like Pelosi and Biden may be posturing and bluffing some, but I don't think Kamala and AOC are.  They want blood.  Plus the Democrats learned a couple lessons form the first (flawed) AWB.  I believe the socialist take-from-those-who-work/give-to-those-who-won't woke stuff and climate hysteria will get first priority, but gun control will come up, especially if there is a mass shooting.

You cant deem something false.  It's either true or a lie.

Are you okay with Twitter or Facebook deciding you shouldn't see a post because someone on their staff DEEMS it false?  I subscribe to neither, but I'd prefer to hear opposing viewpoints and decide for myself, thank you.

Dan Bongino just posted to FB( at least I just saw it). Asking for people to join Parler. Says it's important to do so. As it will be only a short time before FB starts closing down all who disagree with them.

Said more, but that's the core of his message.

Twitter and Facebook are private businesses that can do whatever they please.  I’m not okay with a lot of what they do but that is the reality.

OK...I'm very slow. I had not thought of doing that. Have you gotten any feedback on it? Has anyone noticed?

No one has said word.

The USPS doesn’t care.

I recall my mom or grandmother saying putting a stamp upside down on an envelope means “I love you”.  😛

Not sure if this has been posted before. If so scrub it.

Not read every line yet but a quick overview doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling 🤢

Good start Fuji but we are in the 117th Congress now that started just a week ago.  There have already been a bunch of firearms (hint for search) related bills introduced.  It’s insanity trying to keep up with what those people in DC are doing but the congressional website you posted is where it is.

Hopefully we can hold them off for two years and make changes in our favor come the mid-term election.

I'm not so sure we will ever win another election. In my opinion they stole the last two, there is talk of making Puerto Rico a state, and plans to make all illegals citizens. Then add the fact that they want to pack the court. If their plans come to fruition, I honestly don't see any way out of this without going to a place none of us want to go.

At this point all our hopes are basically pinned on Joe Manchin, Him and maybe a few others that I don't know about may be against the more radical ideas.

No one "deems" it false. It's false.  Spreading disinformation and misinformation is wrong.  Unfortunately it seems a huge portion of our population cannot identify either.

Join them.  Dan would love to be the next Zuck.  Did he mention he is an investor?

Yes he did. Right up front about it. No sales talk, almost apologetic as he said it.

The man is intense! I've only recently found him, and I'm impressed. He reminds me of Colin Noir.
