Form 1 Fingerprint Requirements - Covid Issues with CLEO

Recommended Posts

I just filed a Form 1 for an SBR, paid the $200 extortion fee and received the confirmation email from the ATF eforms site.

They require the fingerprint card to be submitted within 10 business days from the form submission. Here's my dilema, every police department and Sheriff's office I have reached out to states they are not doing fingerprints due to Corona-virus right now.

Questions:

  1. Are there any alternatives to in-person CLEO fingerprinting with the Form 1's?
  2. I had a Form 4 submitted for a suppressor in 2019 which was approved/issued in summer of 2020. Would the fingerprints on file with the ATF for that work for this Form 1?

I reached out to the ATF regarding this, but don't expect a quick response so figured I'd reach out to the group here. How have you all been doing this since law enforcement stopped processing the fingeprint cards?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks guys, the "Signature of Official Taking Prints" threw me off, thought it had to be someone in law enforcement.

It doesn't have to be.   Just be careful and maybe practice a few times before you lay it down on a card.
