Ruger Service Six, .357 Mag, 2-3/4" barrel

Here's one that's not exactly rare, but you don't see them every day:  A Ruger Service Six. .357 Magnum, with the highly desirable 2-3/4" barrel.  The 4-inch barrels were far more common, and the short barrels were always harder to find even back when the gun was still in production.  Nowadays these shorties don't come up on the used market much.  Members of the Security Six family have always been acknowledged as some of the most durable double-action revolvers ever made, and I'm confident that even if you shoot this one regularly, it will still give plenty of enjoyment to your grandchildren.

This particular gun has a unusually nice blue job, especially for a Ruger, which was never renowned for its bluing like S&W and Colt used to be.  The photos show the one flaw in this marvelous finish -- a worn spot near the muzzle on the left side, which I'm guessing came from holster wear.  But if the gun was carried by a previous owner, he or she took good care of it otherwise, as you can see from the photos.

With box and papers, these guns are bringing insane prices these days, but since the gun came to me without a box, it can go for $475 face to face in the Nashville-Murfreesboro area to a TN resident legally able to purchase handguns.

Thanks for looking,

Whisper
