CA San Jose making law abiding gun owners directly responsible for the actions of criminals via taxation

Recommended Posts

As CA escapee, I like to follow their shenanigans. The city of SJ had their lawyers noodle up an interesting way to stop people from buying guns without banning. By pricing folks out, suggesting the cities gun owners pay nearly a half a billion dollars in tax.

Obviously will be fought, but the danger of planting the seeds in the current environment has to be the worst aspect. I would think this could actually backfire in that one could claim it disproportionately effects lower income individuals gun owners, and is directly contrary to their efforts along that line. And could possible be deemed racist by some. Apparently its Ok to be racist against gun owners?

Add another reason to the list of reasons to hate lawyers.

Honestly, nothing that goes on in California, remotely interests me anymore.  I saw what the San Jose Mayor proposed the other day and immediately thought that it would never survive the first court appearance.

IMO, the counties that want to leave California and form their own state, should be allowed to, along with counties in Oregon and Washington.  Then California should be encouraged to form it's own country.  Maybe take Hawaii and and the other parts of Oregon and Washington with it.  But no one cares what I think.

California, Washington, and Oregon can all be separate Countries if they want. Who's gonna miss'em?

I'm a transplant here after living most of my life in WA. I can tell you that large minority of folks there hate the way the government has changed. WA was a blue-collar, logging, fishing and farming state when I was a kid. I finally had to leave because of politics and taxes, but I hated that I was driven to that. My point is that we don't want to paint everyone on the west coast with the same brush. There's a majority of left-wing voters, but there are plenty of conservatives there, too. If you were to take a look at the way the counties voted in WA you'd see that the blue areas are a very small geographic part of the state. I think that a lot of people in WA and OR would love to see Portland and Seattle have less influence, but there it is.

I didn't mean anything disrespectful to the good conservative people of all 3 states but, the state Governments of all 3 states....... just make me sick. My wife's cousin grew up in Tacoma, and thinks it sucks out there.
