Looking for a good auto painter

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for a good auto painter in the Cookeville-to-Knoxville area. I have a 20 year old Audi TT that I'd like to have painted back to factory appearance. There are a couple of scratches and a thumbnail-sized dent, along with the normal rock-chips from everyday driving, but essentially no body work to do at all.

Looking for someone who can do a factory-quality job matching the original factory paint with no drips, no runs, no overspray, or any other faults.   Any referrals would be appreciated!  Thanks.

Good freakin’ luck!

Im looking in the same area for someone to respray my bumper and hood on a high end car and either the price is astronomic or the shop is a joke. I’m more than willing to pay a reasonable price for the work, but it’s proven to be super hard to find someone.

Problem is that I used to do that work, so I am extremely picky and expect a proper job. Seems that no one gives a crap about the work they put out nowadays.

I MAY have found a shop the other day that seems to pass the muster. PM me if you want to discuss.

The problem with shops around where I am is they don't want to do complete cars. They make their fast money on bang up collision jobs and out the door.  The 2 main sorts of completes is a tape & paper everything complete and a restoration complete that requires about all the removable body parts like headlights & tail, Handles and molding removed and reassembled along with inner door jambs. Those restore jobs allow a better paint adhesion all along the accessories since you can sand the full panel instead of "trying" to sand up to the edge of something and time is the only way to sand close and tight to removables without removing. Trying to find a GOOD tape & paper complete is like trying to find a good gunsmith. One of these years when I get a new garage built, I'll set up a booth in it to play at it once again. Good Luck.

For what its worth a Car show guy told me Chan's will do nice completes here in Crossville. I didn't do any more checking with that shop. Scarlets & Baislies are not into completes at all.

I have gotten in to the clay target game recently and need to move some things for a new shotgun.  I picked this up last year from a member here and have put a few hundred rounds through it with zero issues.  The pistol is a ton of fun but I'm really more interested in shotguns these days.

Brand new Green mountain bull barrel for a Ruger 10/22. This is the 18-inch .920 non threaded model. Supposedly this is one of the most accurate barrels you can buy from them.
This Barrel is new and has never seen a round. It has never even been put into a receiver. It is ready for you to put in your Ruger 10/22 to break in!
Here is a link to the Green mountain website for this particular barrel.
