Tent Camping Spots in Nashville?

Slappy

Recommended Posts

I'm needing a place to spend the night in the Nashville area in a couple weeks and I don't want to pay for a hotel room.  The weather should be great so I thought a quick overnight camp would be good for the soul.  Can anyone here recommend a good spot for a short sleep?  I'd prefer it to be a state park instead of one of the big KOA operations with lots of RV's.  The closer it is to Nashville the better as well, but not a firm requirement. Thanks!

I've camped at Cedars several times as well.  Seems kind of silly but it's only 6 miles from my house.  Sometimes we call with friends there and sometimes it's just an easy get a way.  Should be 35 miles/ 1 hour drive to downtown from there.

We're RV campers so I'm going to throw this out there.  State parks aren't going to get you away from RVs unless there is a tent only area.  Actually stayed at Cedars last weekend and it was full of RVs.

I have a friend who has camped at Seven Points on Percy Priest lake and liked it. They close at the end of October for the season.

Came to post this.

Nashville Shores? Don't know if they offer it or not.

I would be leery about leaving all my gear anywhere in Antioch without an armed guard being there though.  🤨
