I called them a couple days ago, and asked about small pistol primers. Somebody actually bought the expensive ones. WOAH!

I haven’t seen a primer there in well you get a year. Probably longer.

I stopped in there today. Looks like supplies are trending back toward somewhat normal. They have some primers, but not all brands/types. They have a pretty good selection of powders, but not much in Alliant.

It would be a good time to stock up if you’re running low on anything. Who knows what this war will turn out to be, but I bet it won’t help future availability.

What kind of primers and how much were they?

Mostly Federal I think. I didn't ask the price. I think he said he had small pistol and small rifle primers.

I wouldn't expect a bargain, price wise.

There are no bargains any more, but if he had Federal SP for $70/k or so, I would pick up a stack.

You could call I suppose.

I meant if I lived fairly close and I were a handloader, I would get a stack.  $70/thousand may not make tons of financial sense to some, but between two wars, an upcoming election, and a less than 2A friendly administration, I don't get a warm and fuzzy feeling about the near future price/availability of ammo and components.  A big pile of Federal primers will not lose value and is more versatile than an equivalent dollar amount of store bought ammo.

I know it’s petty, but Federal primers come in gigantic boxes that don’t stack well. I’d be less particular if I didn’t still have a bunch of primers.

They are bulky, but Federals are my favorite.  They seat the easiest when loading and they are the softest - nobody gets light strikes with Federal.
