While this could be great news, it could also be a never ending subject of jokes and wisecracks icon-smile-1.gif

Usage of the medication sildenafil – better known to most as the brand-name drug Viagra – is associated with dramatically reduced incidence of Alzheimer's disease, new research suggests.

According to a study led by researchers at the Cleveland Clinic, taking sildenafil is tied to a nearly 70 percent lower risk of developing Alzheimer's compared to non-users.

Little late!!  lost both of my parents last month 3 weeks apart due to Alzheimer's/Dementia, F*** those diseases.

This disease is nothing to joke about. My Mother died from the disease in 2013. Terrible way to go. It would be a blessing if it works.  It's too late for her,  but maybe not for others.

I lost one of my grandmothers to Alzhiemers, and the other one as well in all probability, it was just called dementia back in the late 60's, early 70's.  I had a client when I was in the financial business who contracted one of the more aggressive versions, she did not last but 4 months or so after being diagnosed.

Most people don't know that  sildenafil (Viagra) originally started out to be a heart medication. But during development researchers discovered this strange side effect it had. It was quickly decided that there were already plenty of heart medicines. 😆
