First gun Christmas for my son

Recommended Posts

It was a special Christmas for my son this year. He is 5 and "Santa" brought him his first real gun. Of course it had to be a KSA Crickett: black synthetic stock with stainless barrel. His eyes and face when he saw it were priceless on Christmas morning, so Santa did good! Here is a quick shot of us shooting it for the first time the other day. We went through a couple hundred rounds and had a blast. Hope all you folks had a great holiday season!

A fellow that I know slightly has a bunch of kids I mean a bunch. Was at a gun auction 7-8 years ago and they but a Cricket up. Wining bidder could take 1 or up to 5. Everyone was holding back figuring they pick one up without running up the price. He took them all.

My kids have one each. They ran a lot of ammo through them when they were small. I shot them quite a bit as well.

You can't go wrong with a Cricket for a child that age. There is no substitute for easing young children into shooting rifles to prevent lifelong problems with anticipating and the like. Wish I had been given one and taught at that age instead of being subject to self-righteous lectures on the evils of firearm ownership.
