Opinions on Zero Turns?

Not sure if it's been mentioned but having liquid filled tires help hold hills, slopes, etc tremendously better. I was part of a commercial mowing business back before everyone was dragging one around (mid 90's ?) and after having to drag one of our Chariot's out of a local lake we took it to the CO OP and had them fill the rear tires with the same liquid we used on our tractor tires on the farm. I have the rears filled on dads Kubota and can scale a steep bank sideways with little to no slip. This is of course with aggressive tread and pretty wide rears.

As to owning a commercial zero turn I am typing this with a 21 year old sitting in the garage. Paid $6k in 2001 and drove it off the showroom floor. Pull start, steel deck, 52", and it's a war horse. Used it commercially and privately and other than your normal w&t parts its still trucking. Huge fan of them here and couldn't see myself on a big box unless I'm mowing a rock pile or winning a tractor pull at the county fair lol.

How about a little vintage mower love (see pic)

I have a 4 Y O  Hustler 52" zero turn we just put a new 24 HP Kawasaki engine on. Cost me 1800.00 delivered for the new complete engine. S-I-Law installed it. Cuts great. Mower has 750 hours on it and we purchased it $300.00 from a kid who ran the old engine without oil and never cleaned the air filter. Didn't watch the oil level, he said.

We just replaced all the belts and serviced the hydrostatic wheel drives, and it is ready to go. Mowed 2 1/2 acers(our yard) with it Saturday. Working fine. I believe it is 6750.00 + tax for a new one.

Got a good mower for a fair price IMO.

Edited to add; My son-in- law has a Bob Cat 60" z turn and a XMark 60" z turn. Both are excellent mowers.  I have an old John Deer Lawn and Garden tractor type mower purchased in 1986 with a commercial grade Koehler 12 HP with a 42" cutting deck. It is a 212 size Lawn Tractor. Talk about a good buy, 26 years of good service at not much expense. It smoke a little now, but will cut grass fine. Kinda like me, a little worn. Been rode hard and put up wet!
