No matter what picture I try to use, they are all too big for my profile pic? I've been trying to change mine for months.

Same here. There seems to be no changing them. My photos all work in the classifieds but not as a profile picture.

You're going to have to get it down to 100k total image size or less.. For instance, Bozo Joe I have now is around a 50k at 100 dpi and 170 x 170 in photoshop or paint. I just reduced it around 100k then slowly shrink it from there till it fits.

If on Windows, Just right click on the file you want to use (assuming it is a jpg, gif, or png) and select edit.  It should open in Paint (if not, use Open With and select Paint).  Click Resize and then select Pixels.  Change the top value to something like 300 and SAVE AS a different file name so you don't lose the original.

Then right click on that file and select Properties to see the size.  If still to large, do it again and select 200 as the value.

You shouldn't need to worry about dpi, etc.

Here you go.  It should be noted that when downloading from here, it will be smaller than what it actually uploaded as well.   It optimizes it for display to make it no larger than it needs to be within reason.

I've been dealing with this photo problem on this site for sometime now, I just posted two adds in the Firearms section and in the first add it only let me load one picture, the other add won't let me post a picture at all keeps telling me file exceeds 21.5 whatever that means, I've changed every setting on my phones camera and it still does it. I wish this site would get up with the times, on all the other Forums I belong to I don't have a problem posting pictures. Good god update this site to the 21first century.
