Governor does not have to sign when it eventually gets to his desk, however I think he will. Regardless, it still becomes law.

Ah I see. However its still a ways away.

I wish they would hurry and update the bill summary page to see who voted for and against so I can start writing my thank you letter or my 'you're not getting my vote next time' letter. :tinfoil:

That sounds like a plan.

Anyone have a link to the actual vote? Want to see how my rep voted. I just have a sneaky suspicion that I should be angry with David Shepard D-Dickson.

On the Senate side, I'm proud to say we are well represented with a co-sponsor. And yes, a democrat.

Tennessean was quick to report on this:

"The House passed HB0962, the guns-in-restaurants bill that would allow handgun carry permit holders to take weapons into restaurants that serve alcohol. The bill, as amended, would ban those weapons from restaurants from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The bill now moves to the Senate, where it currently sits in committee. The House vote, 70-26, would be enough to override a potential veto by Gov. Phil Bredesen, who has said he’ll make his decision when, and if, a bill comes to his desk."

Now is the time for the editorials saying how the blood will flow through the aisles while you're eating your Bloomin Onion.

I think it'll show up on this summary page, but it's not updated yet.

it will be awhile... probably July 1st or Jan 1st. Im kinda hoping the Senate can do better without a curfew. But I've said all along this is better then nothing... its all about baby steps.

I couldn't care less about the 11pm curfew. I eat early and am usually in bed by 10pm. :)

Once the naysayers have been proven wrong again, it will be easier to get the curfew removed than with the uncertainty about it now. In the mean time, I'll be enjoying my meals out.

July 1 would be nice!

I stand corrected. David Shepard, D-Dickson, is actually a co-prime sponsor of the original bill.

Yay!!!
