These symbolic tea parties are a great way to get out and display some type of disgruntlement with the government or the general state of affairs in this country. But are those in power listening? Are they attending? Where is the mainstream new coverage?

How many people are showing up? Few, I would guess. But I only estimate based on the fact of these things are not reported well, and I have a job to go to everyday.

I'm all for Civil Disobediance but I just hope that whoever is in charge at what ever time (Liberal, Republican, Democrat or Conservative...irrelevant) is truly paying attention to the people.

Oh, and who gets to do the tea-bagging? :poop:

What the hell are you guys protesting exactly? You guys do know taxes haven't really gone up, they've actually gone down for 95% of us right? guess you all make over 250k...

All arguments aside, where the hell were you guys the last 8 years?

Obama has done more good 80+ days than the GOP did in 2 terms, you should be ashamed of yourselves, acting like traitors against the good :tinfoil:of our country.

and Palin for VP? Really? C'mon... almost insanity...:D

I know I'm making no friends here, but I implore you, please think it over at least...

Oh, how 'bout...

Trillions of tax dollars going to bail out poorly run companies and fatcat upper management, while individuals get a couple of grand tax cut and a hearty "good luck brother".

Taking my taxes to use for a Social Security Ponzi scheme that makes Bernie Madoff look like a piker.

Putting the US into so much debt that before long half the federal budget will be needed just to pay the interest on our national debt.

Printing so much more money not backed by anything but US "good faith" that almost surely will create huge inflation rate as soon as deflation is contained.

Many others, these just off top of my head...

It's time for many things in America, equitable tax (I like Fair Tax), term limits on all levels, securing our borders, less Federal involvement in most EVERYTHING, etc, etc. The various states' rights resolutions submitted and/or passed by the various state legislatures are telling - even the state level crooks are protesting against the tyranny.

I think it's probably as much an expression of general displeasure as anything.

I'm planning on wandering 'round the Knoxville one, just to finger the pulse.

You really think that there will be public officials there? (This is a legitimate question, not sarcastic.) I know a lot of people are angry about what is going on, I just don't think that standing around at a Tea Party is going to do anything. I'm predicting a rash of break ins at people's homes who have announced to any and everyone that they are going to this. I guess I just don't feel that Obummer is going to deign to notice that the rabble is restless.

I kind of doubt it, but then again, there may be some on the agenda to speak...I have no idea, and can't find any exact agendas of the various gatherings...I guess there might be pols who feel they are "maverick" enough to make some mileage out of the protest....

Well, I don't expect much change to come about from it, but then again, I'm just impressed that something, ANYTHING, has actually been organized to the extent that this has nationwide. Hell, you usually couldn't spend a million bucks and get a thousand folks in one state to actually meet for anything...so in honor of just the gesture itself, I think I'll show...
