I have been looking for a nice range gun in 9mm. From the people I have talked to that own the x-five the gun seems to be a excellent shooter. But I wanted to see if anyone here has shot one. Trying to find one at a dealer to handle has been a problem. Anyone have any time with one of these guns?

What's the difference between an X5 and a plain jane P226? I have a 226 and it is an excellent gun, reliable, accurate, great to shoot, etc.

The x-five has the five inch barrel/slide. The competition version is a single action trigger external safety. they make a version called the all round that has the 5 inch barrel but is the normal DA/SA.

I got to shoot one @ TAC2 after a IPSC match the other day. They are tack drivers!! The gun is heavy, but the added weight absorbs alot of recoil. Sights were very easy to track, and the grip is a little smaller than a regular 226. The gun was built to race....that's really all you can say. Very pricey though just for a range gun......YMMV
