Time for a CDP tune up

I'm thinking it's about time to replace the recoil spring in my Pro CDP.

It's got a one piece guide rod assy, that you use the paper clip to capture the spring for disassembly. Two questions

1. What would be a good replacement spring for the Pro model Kimbers? I've never had any feed problems, are the factory springs "ok" or should I go to the Wolff springs? How do you know what weight spring to use?

2. What's the trick in getting the recoil spring off/on the guide rod. I'm figuring off is pretty easy...point it in a safe direction and pull the pin :dirty:

what about getting the replacement back on the guide rod?

I use the Wolff recoil springs made for the Kimber ProCarry.

The Kimber manual has pretty easy "how to" directions. It's a "pull the pin...replace the pin" affair. Just make sure the bushing "plug" is oriented the same way when putting it back together.

Wear eye protection when doing it!

If you still need help, I'm in Rutherford Co.
