Oath keepers under fire

Im a member and they are NOT an extremist group. Far from that. They regulate the forum strickly to the mission statement and no BS is allowed. No political crap or anything that will bring disgrace upon the members or the site. OBTW tennessee has the 3rd largest membership in the country. We dont want to take over , we want to take back.
Recently, we looked at the possibility that the Pentagon, in order to allay misguided (if not deliberately fabricated) fears that the Oath Keepers are a dangerous "extremist" organization, would ban service members' participation in the group. The Constitution's staunchest defenders, in other words, would be treated in the same way as would a member of the KKK, or a supporter of Hezbollah.

Per the Associated Press:

The Pentagon may reconsider rules governing participation in extremist organizations that some lawmakers say appear outdated and too narrow in light of the shooting rampage at the Army base in Texas.

Lieberman said Congress may recommend such a review, and a Pentagon spokesman said Friday that the rules could be among the policies scrutinized by a wide-ranging inquiry aimed at preventing another similar attack.

Groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center would loudly applaud a broadening of the definition of "extemist organization," so as to include the Oath Keepers, as evidenced by this statement:

Oath Keepers, the military and police organization that was formed earlier this year and held its April muster on Lexington Green, may be a particularly worrisome example of the Patriot revival.

Leave it to the SPLC to find a revival of patriotism "worrisome."

AMEN BROTHER!!! I fully support the Oathkeepers. Anyone that the Southern Poverty Law Center is suspect of or against should be lauded as patriots. The Southern Poverty Law Center is nothing but a bigoted marxist organization that hates all the principles this country was founded on; all the time purporting to be "guardians of right and law". It is sickening. That is why they will get a more than fair hearing from this treasonous bunch of demorat polititians and bureaucrats that are now in control of this country. There is nothing not to like about what the Oathkeepers stand for.

It is high time that some in this country have become concerned enough about the direction and motives of many currently in government at this juncture in history. I say "God bless 'em."

We have way more pressing things to worry about overseas. Cleaning house will happen like it has the last 100 years...slowly and through elections, trial and error. You really believe in weakening America while a country like Iran pursues nuclear capabilities? :)

Ummm... last time I checked we haven't really cleaned house over the past 100 years. In that time things have only gotten worse with tons of unconstitutional laws, programs like SS and Welfare, etc. At some point our government will collapse. There is NO possible way to keep going the way we are. We have only lasted over the past 100 years because some people have kept us from going to destruction at breakneck speeds (unlike our current president & congress who have both mashed down on the peddle as hard as they can.)

I'll stick with the supreme court.

I hate to say this, but, the Supreme Court is not very far away from being just another arm of the liberal/socialist government. I pray for the health of the remaining conservative leaning judges! We do not need to lose another judge or there will be large changes in store for us. Sometimes I feel that the supreme court is just another arm of the legislative branch of government.

I will be happy if all that happens are the incumbendents are voted out and patriotic people are put in office. People who believe in what this country was founded on. Even the democraps are unhappy with BHO.

At the end of the day its kinda silly, the sheep will always be sheep, the wolves will always be wolves, and the guard dogs will always be guard dogs. The best thing we can hope for is that the guard dogs win the day.

Reality is that within the last 40 years, there has been a systematic campaing in our education system and our entertaiment that depicts real men as somehow evil and outdated. We are killing off our warriors before they even get started.

Who here honestly has the intestinal fortitude to go forth and kick over someones apple cart in the name of liberty? Unless your a combat vet you'll never know.

I dont think there will be a revolution in this country (not in the way we think of 1776). I can see anarchy happening and someone stepping into the power void, but there would be no way to organize and maintain any lines of communication or anything else that would be nessary to carry out a succesfull campaing (its a pipe dream).

Good soap box.:grouchy:

If by "Guard dogs" you mean "protectors of the Constitution", I think we all wish that to be the case. I think when we get closer to anarchy and someone steps in to fill that power void it will be by force and it will be the revolution, unless it's based on our Constitution. Then it will be an act to restore order from chaos.

Anyway, if we let it happen, and not use the ballot first, it may be too late

to notice the second.

I like the idea of oathkeepers. They have a lot of good articles backing

their position. The radical left will always hate people like that.

Just the fact that the left are running a PR campaign against people who have done nothing more or less than reaffirm their oath to the Constitution shows pretty conclusively that the left know they are currently shredding the Constitution, and intend to go even farther in the future. It shows the left are afraid of these groups, and hopes that tags like "hatriots", charges of racism, homophobia and domestic terrorism will weaken the resolve and public support of men and women who've done so much to defend this country.

The left are lying, evil people. How could any honest person support their agenda?
