I've had a powerful craving to buy a wheelgun lately. I'm looking at either a model 610 (4" barrel) or a model 29 Classic (6.5" barrel). I like the flexibility of the 610 (10mm or .40) and I love the history and the bad-ass-itude of the model 29. Either one would be a new caliber for me. Who has experiences, good or bad, with either one? Thanks.

Well here is the good news… No matter what you want in a revolver S&W has it.

The 610 or the 29 are both great weapons. I personally don’t care for the size of the N-frames. I have owned them and carried them and they are too big for my needs. But if they fit your needs they are built like tanks.

The 610 is going to have a lock, but the 29 you can get in a Pre-Lock. The lock wouldn’t keep me from buying one, but if you can find a pre-lock it will hold value better.

I kinda like wheel guns.... :D

Thanks for the responses everyone.

Dave, that's a beautiful collection you have there.

I think I'm going to head to the Knoxville gun show tomorrow and see if I can find a "good deal" on one or the other. I'll let the bargain decide what I get. If that doesn't work I'll either order one from Bud's or hope that Coal Creek hires some employees that aren't rude morons.
