Your Vote On What To Carry

I currently carry a GLOCK 32 IWB. Easy to carry in the Fall and Winter because I always wear sweaters. With Spring not far away, my wardrobe will change to a lot of dress shirts and polo shirts with dress slacks for work. When not on the job it is normally shorts with a tucked in polo shirt. With this change in seasonal wardrobe it is a little more difficult to carry the GLOCK 32 IWB during Spring and Summer.

I have been encouraged to move to a revolver for Spring and Summer.

(1) What are your thoughts concerning this suggestion?

(2) If you agree with it, what would you suggest for a revolver?

(3) If you disagree with the suggestion, what would be your recommendation?

Thanks for all the input. This is a great place to come and find help.

I recommend a Smith 442 or Ruger LCP. Both work nicely in a pocket for shorts carry. Yes, one's a .38 and one's a 380 but they will do.

That's what I do and am very happy with it. (Plus all my pants are getting too tight for IWB!)

I carry a Firestar m40. It is the same size as my .357 Mag snub nose but packs the punch of .40 S&W. When thats too conspicuous I carry a Sig P238 in the back pocket and a Bond Arms Derringer loaded with .410 000 Buck in the front.

I would suggest going with a G32 in the same carry caliber you have. No need to change from a Glock to revolver just because it's summer.

Another thing to think about and look at is purchasing the accessories for the revolver...more money in the long run. Truthfully, you should be able to use the same IWB for the G32 and of course use the G33 mags for back ups while carrying the smaller G32...... Again, not that it may matter to some, but having to purchase and keep up with two calibers of ammo can be expensive as well........

I normally carry a G19 for winter and a G26 for summer....however I've been carrying my G26 more often now because I've just gotten use to it's weight and size.

It just makes more sense to carry a weapon you're familiar with and confortable with (even though it's smaller) in the same caliber.....besides, it's a Glock...everyone knows you can shoot your rear off with a revolver. ;):D:koolaid:

I carry a G26 year round, my G19 on rare occasion. I use to carry a 5 shot snubbie and felt real comfortable with it.

Until...

One of my customers told me about an employee of his that was robbed by a gang of 4. One or two of them had a gun, the others beat the guy and stole his money. Apparently they did it more than once that day, in broad daylight at a couple of gas stations.

Since then the G26 has been my minimum. That's just me though.

I carry a G19 most of the time. Otherwise its a G21SF when I think things might get hairy around the water cooler. I've been considering a G26. I keep gravitating towards them at the gunstore.

It happens......I used to carry my G19 all the time. Got the G26 for summer carry use only since it's smaller........BUT......I've gotten used to the G26s' weight and size......kinda hard to carry the G19 now since it feels different. It really takes some getting use to after carrying the G26. :D

I have a Glock 32, but I usually carry my Glock 33 because the 33 is the smaller of the two and conceals more easily whether it is in my SmartCarry or my OWB or IWB holster. 32 mags will work in the 33 (in a pinch), but they hang down a bit. 33 will fit in ANY holster made for 32, so I didn't have to buy more holsters. Reason I carry 33 most times is that the butt isn't as long and is easier to conceal.

In the summer and spring I go with an LCP fitted with a Keltec clip draw and the new Hornady Ballistic tip ammo. The clip draw comes from the Keltec website and fits the LCP perfectly. It allows me to wear it in my waistband without a holster.

You might concider a clip-on IWB holster. It would be safer to keep the trigger guard covered.

The G26 is a great pistol. It's hard to beat it's versatility. I often pocket carry mine in jeans. Lately it's been riding in the under arm holster of my concealment jacket. Doesn't show at all. IF I had to choose between my G19 and G26, I think the 26 would get the nod.
