Never said I would carry it, I am allowed to use them offshore sometimes However I think it is ridiculous that I am allowed to carry any caliber of handgun concealed or open, but not allowed to carry an automatic knife, I fail to see the logic here :death:

Oh, totally agree. Just another of the feel good perception laws, nothing based in reality.

I'd like to have a quality auto knife myself, but can't see buying something I can't legally carry, even hiking/camping/hunting/whatever.

A lot of bladed weapons are banned in Knoxville.

??

Knoxville has knife laws that are more restrictive than state ones?

I'm not sure they even can, although the state preemption only seems to apply to firearms/ammo.

hahaha ass....and I was just about to call you on this WWII uniform I sourced.....but no seriously if you check a lot of bladed weapons cannot be sent to Knox County per most magazines.

Well, looking at Knoxville City Code:

Municode - Search

there is the same bizarre statute that Kwik used at Belle Meade:

Specific reference:

reference:

ARTICLE IV. - OFFENSES AGAINST PUBLIC SAFETY

"Any person who shall carry in any manner whatever, with the intent to go armed, any razor, dirk, bowie knife or other knife of like form, shape or size, sword cane, icepick, slingshot, blackjack, brass knuckles, Spanish stiletto, or fountain pen pistol or gun, or like instrument containing a firing pin and capable of shooting tear gas or pistol cartridges, or any pistol or revolver of any kind whatever, except an Army or Navy pistol which shall be carried openly in the hand, or any other dangerous weapon, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor."

Obviously, this statute is ignored, at least as far as HCP pistol carry.

Anybody want to try the Army/Navy pistol thing?

"dirk, bowie knife or other knife of like form, shape or size" could cover damn near anything.

"any other dangerous weapon" of course, would include EVERYthing.

Also, to support your statement, which admittedly I originally scoffed at, there is this about SELLING:

specific reference:

ARTICLE IV. - OFFENSES AGAINST PUBLIC SAFETY

"It shall be unlawful for any person to sell or offer to sell, or to display for the purpose of selling or giving away or otherwise disposing of any dirk, bowie knife or other knife of like form, shape or size, sword cane, slingshot, blackjack, brass knuckles, or Spanish stiletto within the city."

Which of course is completely ignored, at least by resident merchants, or those at gun shows.

So I can see where some vendors might not want to ship certain knives. Although how they define which ones must be really nuts.

I was REALLY surprised to find the same Belle Meade ordinance in the Knoxville city code.

I couldn't find anything re weapons of any kind in the Knox County Code.
