Knife on concealed body armor?

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking about adding a knife to my hidden work arsenal. I have a couple of ideas floating around in my head. Anyone ever mounted a knife on concealed body armor? If so, what kind of knife and how did you choose to do it?

For something small and very concealable, take a look at the Ka-Bar TDI LDK. At first glance you wouldn't see much good in it, but if you hold it properly it will make pretty decent cuts in a punching bag. ;)

Thanks for the replies, guys. I've looked at the urban pal and the TDI. The urban pal doesn't look like I'd be able to keep a good hold on it (I'm probably wrong, but that's just my impression without having played with one). The TDI could work. It's a funny looking knife, but may have a place on me...

Urban Pal goes in your closed fist, with just blade sticking out tween second and third knuckle,

You strike and slash with it from closed fist. Back of handle abuts to lower part of palm.

It's quite secure and does a real number, far beyond its length would suggest.

I figured it went in a closed fist, but still wasn't sure how well it'd stay there when striking. Neat video, though. Are both sides of the blade sharp or is it a false edge on one side?

Well, I was going to post a picture for reference of how I hold the TDI LDK, but Java won't let me get the required update to use Photobucket. So, I'll try to explain. I hold it with my ring finger through the large hole with my hand in a fist. The blade extends from the right side (of my right hand) with the blade pointed forward.

Only one side sharpened.

A design drawback actually, IMO.

Probably any number of states where double edge is no no, though.
