Is this a crazy Load (45 ACP)

Recommended Posts

Rainier 185 grain HP coated concave back

6.8 grains of Universal

Magnum primer

1.230 O.A.L

Im shooting this in a Glock 30sf anything less and it will have a problem ejecting. I have only shoot 5 of these and it feels like a factory load and ejects like a factory load. All the data I can find is on the Hodgon website for a Hornady 185 jhp. and it says 6.4 grains max. But with that load it will eject the shell in my hand.

I never exceed the manufacturers published data. I know it has gotten more conservative due to lawyers and liability, but i figure the powder companies know best. You might look for older data. It is usually higher in grains, pressure and velocity.

Good luck.
