I carry a G19 in a Don Hume IWB holster. You certainly have to be cautious of shirt tail when reholstering. Usually if I'm carrying I never take it out of the holster unless I come back home in which case the whole configuration comes out. Since the IWB is such a tight fit, when putting the holster on I have the weapon already inside the holster. This eliminates the worry of accidentally getting the shirt tail in the trigger well or taking the weapon slightly out of battery (due to the tight fit).

I was required to have a 12lb New York Trigger on my Glock 19 with my department for conceal carry so I was never worried about it going off, lol. It takes an act of god for that trigger to go off. I actually really wouldn't recommend it at all, haha!

I might recommend you carry it cocked with an empty chamber and full magazine for a while until you get used to it and practice (safely, lol) with it that way. Remember, always treat it like its loaded. Anyway, it might help you transition over to condition 1. Good luck, stay safe!

Hey people, I have been carrying a g19 for about 4 months now and have been carrying in condition three. After watching some of the videos on here like.. +1 for the good guys and the jewelry guy getting shot to death because he couldn't chamber a round in time I want to start carrying in condition one. What do you guys suggest doing to make sure I am safe in condition one? Are there training classes just for glock or that stress condition 1 carry...

If you continue carrying a gun that's not ready to fire when needed then you're better off with a pocket knife. If you aren't comfortable with your own ability to handle a loaded gun safely then there are several gun safety classes available you can attend.

Try this... while at home carry your gun on you completely unloaded and several times through out the day unholster, handle, and reholster your gun using the basic safe gun handling techniques you already know. If at the end of the day you have not accidently dry fired your gun then you should have no issue with carrying it loaded. Gun pointed in safe direction at all times and finger out of trigger guard and you should not have anything to worry about.
