Sighting problems

Recommended Posts

It seems I am having problems sighting scopes/red dot scopes on my AR15 on the carry handle. The biggest problem is getting it zeroed. I tried bore sighting it but I can't get the crosshairs down enough to be zeroed. I've tried several scopes with no luck. If you need any more info just ask. Thanks

at what distance? you should be aiming high at 10 meters which i think is what we boresighted at.. cant remember exactly since its been awhile since ive used an IR laser or m68 but you should be high at that short distance and then shooting at 25 meters and adjusting from there. hell i could be completely confused someone reply that has done this recently.

it should be like this for 10 meters:

+ <---crosshairs/red dot or w/e

o <----borelaser

we had a sheet that had that set up with gridsquares so wed know how far to adjust one way or the other and it would make it so we would be hitting paper at 25 meters. that is when they start to connect but im not totally sure even then that they will be dead center or else when you fire at 300 you would be shooting way low. you should check the site for the scope manufacturer or read the directions that came with it for sighting it in.

Sounds like the scope isn't aligned properly... make sure that the carry handle mount is tightened down all the way, they can bind sometimes in a canted manner (though usually they aim too low)... I dunno.

Have you tried firing the gun to verify that the bore-sighter is projecting accurately? (of course, remove the bore-sighter from the barrel before shooting )
