my best bud has just about any "high end" 1911 out there. ( lucky him ). I dont own a Kimber myself, however I have shot all of his tons of times including his raptor and I have to say, its awesome. Very smooth and crisp not to mention is very eye catching. I will own one hopefully soon just have to save up a little more. I cannot speak as a owner of one but I can say that I have shot one a bunch and it's for sure on the top of my wish list.

Recently acquired a Pro Carry II as well, so far none of the kimber horror stories. I used 2 Kimber mags and several Wilson Combat PN7D mags with it. However I did have John Wall at Eastside Gun Shop, where I bought it, go thru it first and he cleaned it thouroughly and checked out the gun for issues. He did remove and inspect the extractor, filing a "hair" off he said, and I'm pleased with it so far.

I had an Ultra Raptor II. I didn't have any problems with it and it was very concealable. The only reason I did not keep it is I do not like alloy frame 1911s. If it would have been all steel, it would still be in my collection.

Pro Carry II....awesome...zero issues. Remember there are a number of factors when you hear someone complain about any gun...often it's the care of the owner, not the gun. Try one yourself and be your own judge. Most of the finer 1911's will serve you well if you learn to take care of them. I will say, you need to be meticulous about keeping them clean....if you're not inclined to put in the work taking care of one.....get a Glock..I have one of those too and they are incredible..just a different flavor.
