I bought a used Litewight Loaded Operator about a year ago. Blue, 4" model. It had seen better days..scuffed and neglected. Even so, it shot well and accurately. I have put maybe 500 rounds thru it since and has never failed me. Of course a good thorough cleaning was performed and I had a Local shop's smith check it over for me.

Are you getting new or used? Either way, Springfield makes good weapons...from mid-range entry level 1911's to some really nice custom guns that can run into several thousand ++. Just check it over, and if you're like me with only a rudimentary knowledge of wear levels and indicators...have a good gunsmith check it out.

Hope this helped.
