Glock Dumb Thing - Again

Except for the Comonolli thumb safety I have tried just about every aftermarket gizmo and part you can for a Glock, including sights (many sights for Mr MaGoo eyes), optics, steel frames, slides, barrels, trigger bars, etc. I was reading about those T.A.S sights and then saw a set in the shop the other day. At $89.00 they seemed a bit steep but then I thought - that sight may be the answer to my dreams? It wasn't - again. Just like most reviewers have said, they are too small, need too much ambient light and except at 7 yards and in don't give any advantage, if even then, over what I am already using that I can discern. You can shoot with it but in my estimation no better and maybe a bit worse than a 5.00 set of stock Glock plastic sights.

So far the best sights I have found for fast accurate-enough shooting, besides a couple of more traditional black sights, is this "huge" red HiViz front fiber optic sight I have on one of my G26s and a rail weapon-light on my "night" Glock. I have used TFOs also, but don't any longer.

I have a 19 and 21 with night sights and the rest of them are standard Glock sights.

Thank you, graycrait. You just saved me some money. I've been toiling over trying

different sights because of my Magoo eyes, also.

My eyes are pretty bad, and the XS Big Dot are real easy to see and aim for close-range center of mass shooting. Doubtful if they would be much of a target sight, but dunno.

+1

XS Big Dots are the bee's knees. And I use them with equal precision with both eyes open.

I'm partial to vertical 2-dot style sights so I used to run Heinie Straight-8s on everything, until I discovered Big Dots.

I switched from Glock night sights to Tru-Glo fiber optics for competition, liked them so much I put them on my carry gun. My scores definitely improved, and I'm guessing if I should have a serious social need, I'd be in better position with them, except in really dark areas. I'll try the Tru-Glo TFO sights that combine tritium and fiber optics next, that should cover most bases. I do like a nice gold bead on a revolver though, so I may try that on a Glock also.
