It really depends on a couple of things. 1. What brand and style of pipes. 2. Are the pipes baffled or not.

Many pipe manufacturers have sound clips and decibel ratings on their respective web-sites.

Sound clips can be sketchy....you gotta hear em in person IF you can...or....ditch your FAKE Harley for a real one...I kid...I kid...I have a one lung British noise maker.

either way i knew i'd get ribbed by one camp or the other, and i figured i'd rather pay half as much for the privilege. :poop:

video clips are really hard to judge. lots of pipes sound good, but i can't tell if they're going to make my neighbors call the HOA or just sound nice and deep. i checked out Cobra's site, but didn't see any specs for their slip on kits.

i went back to Cobra's site to double check after reading your advice (and created an account to get more details about the products), but they don't have sound clips or specs that i can find.

Yeah, they aren't good about info. I have Cobra's on my 650 Classic and I like them. They are a little "slappy" at speed but part of that is the high rev engine. I'm told the V&H's are they way to go.
