Finally Bought My First Revolver Today

Recommended Posts

I've not had a chance to shoot it yet, but I'm dying too. How's the recoil compared to a .480, .454, or .45 LC? Anybody shot them to compare?

Gonna have a bit more recoil than the .45 LC. I'm not sure about the .480 or .454

Great looking gun though. I always had a blast shooting my Dad's S&W Model 29 when I was growing up.

I finally got to shoot it. Recoil wasn't as bad as I figured it would be. It was pretty stout, but that long barrel really tames it. I was hitting 6" targets, open site from 50 yards my first few shots so I know it was accurate. (More accurate than me.)

I just traded it today for a SIG P229 .40 caliber. The Ruger was nice, but I never get to hunt and is was impractical for me. I appreciate the input though. I haven't given up yet...I'll try another revolver one of these days. :)
