I wonder if it was a set up...

probably.

At least in TN if I am carrying a pistol I have to have my HCP.

But lets forget about the pistol. Sure I don't have to carry ID (if I am not doing an action that requires ID, going armed, driving(yes I am aware some states knowing your Driver license number is enough)) but I thought when ask by a LEO I had to give my full legal name and I was not allowed to lie. Seems by not giving his last time that was giving the officer enough just case if he wanted to pursue further action.

If he had been carrying or driving he would have had to show ID. But he was carrying an unloaded gun. That’s the latest thing for what I believe are anti-gun folks. It’s a game, I don’t think it was a setup…. But you never know. Sure made the guy carrying look like a dufus.

I hadn't seen that video as well. I thought the police officer was pretty cool.

I have a couple of questions. I must have missed it, but why was the guy stopped? Second question, why would someone carry an unloaded gun with no magazine?

I'm sure it was because he was open carrying, walking down the road. Legal but will raise eyebrows.

I think that's legal in California, where this video was filmed. The guy was obviously looking to make a scene and capture it on video, but failed miserably when he came a across a rational, good-natured cop.

Okay, thanks. That explains a lot.
