Wilderness Belt Stiffness

I am looking at ordering a Wilderness instructor belt but I'm not sure what stiffness I should buy. I have a 5.11 leather gun belt but it's VERY thick and I never wear it. I have a bit of a gut and that belt doesn't lay right when I am sitting down. I am 6'1" / 230lbs and I wear 36/38" pants. On their website they suggest the CSM stifness for guys with 50" waists. I read on another forum that the 5stich was more comfortable than the CSM. I will just be carrying my p238 IWB for now until I buy a M&P 9c or a Glock 19. I have been considering the 3 stitch.

I have the one with the plastic insert "CSM" belt. I wear 36" pants but bought a size 40 1.5" width to help accommodate an inside waist holster. It is right on the line as far as being to long, should have got a 39. As far as the stiffness, I like it. It helps carry a full size 1911 with little problem. Any thing smaller, I barley notice it's there. This, and some good quality holsters are some of the best money I've spent on gun accessories. I got mine at Greene Military/Police in Nashville. They were the same price as on Wilderness site.

I bought the 5 stitch for a G-19 at home and have been using it in Iraq for the last 4 months with an M9 with two spare mag carriers, Surfire and it's holding up. Never tried the other type but the 5 stitch is good enough.

You and I are about the same size. I wear a lot of propper lightweight tactical pants and the best belt I've used is the cobra belt by SOE. It's thick and won't work with all pants, but it will give you super powers! I'm kidding , it doesn't give you super powers, but it will make you want to buy your pants just to fit your belt.

Well, I just opened my new 5 stitch Wilderness belt. It feels great so far! The buckle is bigger than I am used to but I will get used to. I am really impressed with the quality.
