2 Vintage Straight Razors

Recommended Posts

Went to the Antique Festival in Clinton, TN today and found 2 vintage JA Henckel straight razors. One is in good shape the other needs some polishing and both need a professional sharpening. Paid $30 for the first and $25 for second

Nice find,

The second one is in better shape than the one I am restoring right now (J.R. Torrey)

Id love to see that, post some pics when your done.

the second one appears to be rusty in the pic, but is smooth to the touch, more of a stain or patina. hopefully it will buff out well

Nice Henckel.

The Spanish point looks to be in very good shape.

The #84 look like you make have to get through some metal to get a clean shaving edge.

Nice pick up.

Thanks

I'm gonna try to get the Spanish point honed and ready to shave. The square point I'm considering buffing down to clean metal and then get it honed. I've watched a lot of restoration videos and feel confident I can do it, just gotta get the stuff and get it done
