I seem to recall Toys-R-Us or Target doing something like this a while ago but you got $100. I think I heard that someone actually bought a few crappy guns at a pawn shop for $25 and turned them in for $100.

It would be kinda funny if you had a cheap or broken gun to go there with gloves on, hat, and sunglasses and turn it in after wiping it down to eliminate fingerprints right in front of them. It mint be a pretty funny video just to watch their reaction.

I have a broken Bryco that I was given. I had planned on turning it in to one of these places. It won't be for $25 though.

I have standards.

There is a group in Jacksonville, Fl that has done this several times for the Jax community. No questions asked type deal for cash. I was AMAZED at what types of guns they brought in. No doubt they were hot but it achieved the objective of getting them off the streets.

WI need to organize my own 'gun buy back'. Especially if I could have an officer on hand to run BG checks and take possession if it's stolen. I bet if you lay out $50/gun, you could EASILY make a killing, even after you got rid of the crap.

+1

I'd be in on a deal like that. Your choice of cool guns to keep. Scrap metal to sell for the rest. Or open a gun parts website.
