Rear sight options for Ruger 22/45 mkIII?

Recommended Posts

I recently got a Ruger mkIII 22/45 with the 5.5" bull barrel and wondered what you guys would suggest to replace the rear square notched sight. I already replaced the front sight with a Hiviz fiber optic and it's great. The rear still needs upgrading too for my taste and I wondered if ya'll know of anything? I don't know if a fiber optic is available or if I should just fill in the square notch groove with white paint. I'd appreciate ya'lls input. Thanks

it is just a target pistol, I have the same set up on mine. It has never crossed my mind to do anything to the rear sight.

To each his own I guess. I just can't stand plain black sights on any of mine. I always jack up my trucks and put mudders on em too, even though it's probably not necessary. Lol

Not my pic, but I do have this sight on my 22/45. It's a Burris FastFire II. The FastFire III is about to hit the market with a few nicer touches. The older versions will probably be on sale soon.

That looks nice. I'm gonna look into that. Thanks Whiskey
