What gun did you use to take your carry permit class?

Like others have said, not difficult at all to pass the test. Most places that offer classes also offer rentals so rent something in a small caliber or bring whatever you are most comfortable with. My instructor told us nobody has failed his class due to poor marksmanship, but he has failed some due to unsafe handling of a gun while a the range. So pay close attention to the safety rules and relax for the actual firing bit of the test.

Didn't have a firearm at the time so one of the deputies who taught the class let me use his Glock 17 9mm. Hadn't fired a handgun before but scored 98%. Liked the Glock but ended up buying an SW990L in .40. Did like the Glock though. Very easy to shoot accurately

When I lived in Arizona, I used my Gen. 3 Glock 19. When I moved here to the great state of Tennessee six years ago, I qualified with a Smith and Wesson M&P 40.
