1911A1 Gunsmith in Nashville??

Recommended Posts

I acquired a 1911A1 recently, and I bought an Ed Brown "Drop-in" barrel, beavertail grip safety, and bobtail mainspring housing to put in it. I also got the jigs for both the grip safety and the mainspring housing. I need a gunsmith to fit and install the above as well as cut a dovetail for a new front sight. I prefer not to drive clear to Greenbrier or Winchester if I don't have to, so anyone know of a capable gunsmith hopefully around Lavergne?

+100 to THIS! He does great work. I am fixin' to give him a couple of long term projects. Of course, he is the only gunsmith I know, so there is that.

Jeff did the first work I ever had done on a pistol. It wasn't much, but he did great, timely work back then. He shanged out a trigger, hammer, and tightened up an Officers Model for me. But he's gotten so well known now, I don't know how quick it would be to get something done.

I would give Jeff Miester @ Hero Gear a shout - he has worked on my 1911's, and builds the Killer Hero Gear 1911- they are just down the road in Winchester!
