There was another thread on building your own guns so I thought I'd share the story and some pictures from the build project of my semi-auto 1919a4.

Start with some tools, a box of parts, a parts kit, right side plate and a dream:

You have to modify the internals to be semi-auto only, complete the right side plate (if you buy an 80% plate) and rivet everything together.

Yes, my rivets are UGLY. I did them with a hammer, a homemade form and a lot of pounding.

The BATFE used to require that the right side plate was welded to the rest of the box but I've heard that this is no longer the case.

I built a little crappy homemade tripod-thingy to test fire the gun but have since purchased an Izzy M2 tripod for the gun to live on. I also had the gun and internals completely reparked. I don't have any pics but I'll take some next time I have it out of the safe.
