How does status change from new member to member?

I don't believe the OP ever really got an answer. I'm curious too. I was guessing that with the change to the new software that the trigger was 100 posts. However, I see some members with less than 75 posts that are considered "members," while I've also noticed members with around 125 posts that are still listed as a "newcomer".

Did you see if you can simply edit your profile ?

There is a "slot" for "member title". I just now changed mine to "Senile TGO Member",

Be sure and click your choice on mailing list option, or it gripes out back to default.

But, It's all OK. I am sure more than 300 of my posts have been meaningless. :pleased:

TGO David indicated in another thread that the system settings require 250 posts before you can change the member title on your own. So, the question regarding when the system changes a member from "TGO Newcomer" to "TGO Member" status is still not answered.

At the 20,000 post threshold, you receive the TGO Secret Decoder Ring. I done heered it am made out of pure rhodium and uses infinite-bit quantum entanglement encryption. It comes in either woodland or desert camo and the thang runs on winchester 231 powder. But wait, there's more! Additionally, the Decoder Ring is a GPS, CB radio, range finder, windspeed meter, shooting chrony, MP3 player, water purifier, BS detector, pocket constitution, signalling mirror, fire starter, flashlight, pocket knife and toothpick!

The dark secret is at 25,000 you become Honorary Owner (HO) of TGO and start making obligatory payments on TGO David's house mortgage. Word on the street is he is hoping for enough HOs to also finance a beach cottage get-away in Costa Rica. Recently he began accepting in-lieu-of-wedding-gifts as well.
