I'm an idiot

So I've had my Glock 26 for all of 2 days and I finally managed to break it. :) I was working on getting my press set up for some reloading and I thought, well let's just see how these cycle through my new gun. So I popped 1 in the mag racked the slide and released, gun fails to go into full battery. Now I can't get the slide to go either way. Luckily the bullet was a test round for my dyes and has no primer or powder in it.

I guess I'll run back to the gun shop with my tail between my legs, unless someone here has a better plan to get that stupid round out. :D

Friendly village idiot,

Dave

Insert a dowel in the barrel, and press the dowel up against a wall/work-bench, pushing on the grip... this will force the cartridge back against the slide and push everything open. You probably won't be able to re-use the cartridge or bullet though.

The guy I bought the gun from fixed it for me today. He basically did what you recommended, Mol. Huge kudos to Phillip at Frontier Firearms for bailing me out. :D I guess I'll be buying a cartridge gage and checking each round from now on.
