FAQ: I paid for a Benefactor membership but I'm still not a Benfactor. Why?

We get this question every so often:

Someone pays for a Benefactor subscription but they notice that their account still isn't updated to reflect it. Usually the reason for this is because the funds used to pay for the subscription did not come out of their Paypal account balance or a credit/debit card, but were processed as an electronic check by PayPal.

When this happens, PayPal takes 5-10 business days to process the transaction before they release the funds. Once the funds release, the member's Benefactor subscription is automatically activated.

So if you've paid for a subscription and it's not showing up yet, this could be why. However if you are certain that the funds were automatically deducted from your existing PayPal balance or were processed as a credit/debit card and your Benefactor status still hasn't been updated, please post a request for support and we will be glad to look into it for you.
